OUR GOAL

At STILL our hope is to help find balance and stillness in those who are struggling in an otherwise unbalanced and chaotic world. We strive to help our clients achieve their wellness goals so that they can focus on the important things in life with a calm reassurance that they are supported at every step of the way.

We wish to help our clients fully realize their potential and reach their wellness goals by first accepting that health is not something that comes as a singular prescription that can be ingested by all. On the contrary, we believe that true wellness must look at the individual as the sum of all its parts and we recognize the perceived dualistic nature of the mind and body. We firmly believe that only through the proper integration of both these aspects can a person truly find a place of quiet assured calm- a point of stillness for themselves. On the road to achieving this state we offer a variety of both eastern and western body work modalities as well as comprehensive programs in yoga, meditation, mobility training and martial arts tailored to each specific client's needs and goals.

STILL aims to serve our community, to build friendships and alliances so that we may create a dialogue with those around us. Our goal is nothing less than to do our part in the creation of a better society for all by helping one person at a time.

FOUNDER

Victor Hugo is a New York State licensed massage therapist, an ashtanga yoga instructor with nearly 20 years of experience as well as a dedicated instructor and practitioner of the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His practice aims to support his clients health goals in order to help them achieve balance in mind and body. He is also a vipassana meditation practitioner and hopes to meet the visitors of his practice with a kind, open and caring heart in a space free of judgement and fear.

Before taking on a full-time role as a massage therapist and alternative health practitioner Victor held the position of Head Preparator for several major galleries in NYC and strongly advocated for increased wages/ benefits for freelance art handlers in the city. He holds a firm belief that every aspect of ones entire life can inform an art practice. His bodywork is effective and deeply relaxing, integrating his wealth of knowledge and experience in mind-body approaches to wellness. His entire purpose in creating STILL was to help others find the strength, support and resolve needed in their lives to help promote positive changes in mind, body and spirit.
